Latest Scrappin' Project

For those of you who like to scrapbook and do such crafty things, I wanted to share my latest scrappin' project with you. I have to admit that I didn't come up with this on my own, I scraplifted the idea and changed it to fit the supplies I had on hand. It's a tag booklet for Halie to learn her colors, shapes, and begin to recognize the words that go along with each. I loved the idea of including different shades of each color so that they learn more than one color can be blue or red, etc. I used the Cricut to cut out the tags and the shapes, I printed the words onto the tags with the computer/printer, and I cut out all the bits of colors from scraps from my scrapbag. Then I connected them all together with bits of fibers all in the same colors as the tags. $0 involved and she already LOVES it!

Father's Day

Father's Day this year felt a bit rushed and hectic after the busy family reunion the day before, but we still had a great time and lots of good food. We decided to do a golf theme since all of the guys have been into golf lately, and we had grand ideas in our heads for making it look really nice and pulling off a great theme. But alas.................sigh................we had to forgo our great ideas and go for what was more feasible............sigh again. : ) Things were just so busy that it would have been more stressful to make it "perfect." And in Robert's words, "I don't see why you're going to go through all of that trouble just for decorations. We're guys, all we care about is good food and having our family there." So, we took his advice and went with simple, easy decor. Everyone brought a dish or two to share so it kept the work load nice and light for all of us. It was a great day to honor the father's in our lives.
Halie loves her Daddy! And he is the BEST Daddy!

The Delamarter and Cantrell clan gathered for dinner. Bob and Gina joined us too. Gina and I made biscuits and gravy for Robert and Bob that morning, but I was so busy cooking I completely forgot to take any pictures!

New at This Bloggin' Stuff

I've decided to start a blog for the benefit of those of you who don't have Facebook and who have no desire to become acquainted with it. : ) I also decided to do it so that as I have genius thoughts and musings I have a place to share it. : ) Facebook isn't really the most ideal setting for that. Plus I like that I can customize this more. So stay tuned, it may take me a bit to learn the ropes and get used to all of this, but I'll get it eventually so check back in from time to time to learn the latest from our lives. If you visit, leave a comment so I know you've been here, that way I'll know my efforts are not in vain.
