Strawberry Pickin' Day

One sunny, warm June day, the kids and I joined a couple of ladies from church and went to a U-Pick strawberry patch.

Bubs was just hangin' out, relaxin', while we did all the hard work.

Halie had fun.  She did pretty well, and with encouragement and prompting picked almost a half a bucket.  After that she said she was too tired and hot to do any more.  : )

Me and my sweet girl.

After we got our buckets full we drove over to the home of another friend from church, Wendy. She let us use her fabulous kitchen to make jam and jelly out of our berries.

Kerri and Lindsay helping out.

Here's my finished freezer jam...oh so yummy!

The next day I just had to make some homemade bread to accompany the homemade jam.  Double yummy!!

Memorial Day Parade

It was a last minute decision to go to the Memorial Day Parade here in town, but we were glad we went.  Halie had SO much fun and it was nice to get out and do something different.

Of course, I got them all dressed up in red, white, and blue.  : )

Who could resist that face?!?

My sweet girl.

Patiently Impatiently waiting for it to start.

Seriously?  Could a kid get any cuter?

My two favorite guys.

Someday she'll learn the significance this particular uniform holds.

Friend from church, Crissie.

It was much longer than I expected and we enjoyed it.  Halie came home with a pocket full of candy so that made her day!  : )

Papaw & Nana's Visit

A couple of weeks ago we were so blessed to be able to have my parents come for a visit.  Halie was SO very excited she could hardly stand it.

Enjoying some reading time with Papaw

Nana bought her a little tub full of letter tiles and they had fun spelling out words.

One thing Halie asked to do even before they got there was to make pancakes with Nana.

Burl getting in some snuggle time with Nana.

Time to say goodbye.  : (

We sure did enjoy their visit and will miss them very much!

Signs of Summer

I can't take any credit for these roses, the bush was already here when we moved in and I haven't done much to them.  But I sure am enjoying them!

Did a little color editing on this one.

And I sure am enjoying have fresh flowers to cheer up my kitchen!

I hope you're having a blessed week!
