June 2012

The month of June started out with the kiddos being enthralled with a cement truck that was pouring a new driveway across the street.  They even pulled up chairs for a front row seat.  They looked so cute!

One evening after dinner I sent them out to play while I cleaned up the kitchen, 15 minutes later I came out to discover this.

He had dug up my plant and had the dirt everywhere!  Look at that face, he knows he's in trouble!

Eating his very own ice cream cone, with homemade chocolate ice cream.

I used some of my new found spending money from my Etsy shop sales to buy some flowers for the yard.

Unfortunately this ladder arrangement is no longer there.  A couple of weeks ago we had a really bad storm and the wind knocked it all to smitherines.

Once again, one evening I sent them out to play after dinner.  A little while later I hear them laughing hysterically.  I came out to find them covered in mud and splashing happily in the dirty rainwater that had collected in their pool.

He had dirt in every nook and cranny!

We held a 2 day garage sale and sold A TON of stuff.  I was pretty happy with the almost $400 we made too!

Mom and Dad D. came up for a visit.  They arrived on Father's Day.

Two of the world's best dads, for sure!

Halie was VERY excited to have a fancy tea party with Nana.  Nana brought her some pretty dress up things to wear for it.

Two pretty ladies.

She had SO much fun!  Thank you Nana!

Reading a bedtime story.

Night time snuggles with Papaw.

One day I was walking through the living room and noticed Burl's pile of toys he had collected on the couch.  Notice a bit of a theme going on there?  : )
The boy loves his trucks!

Nana bought Halie her very first paint by number picture.

And with just a bit of help from said Nana, she did a great job with it!

Playing Tic Tac Toe and Hangman with Papaw.

The week went by so fast and before we knew it, it was already time for good-byes.

The memory card on my good camera was full and I had to switch to the little Kodak, so these next two are very grainy for some reason.

The kids had such a great time with Nana and Papaw and we were very blessed to have them visit.
We miss you already!

Burl loves to try on my flip flops and attempt to walk in them.  It's quite funny to see.

I found this play rug at a garage sale for $1!!  I had been wanting one for them for quite awhile, but was reluctant to pay $40 for it.  I had thought we might "splurge" and get one for Burl for his birthday, but then I found this for only a buck.  Can't beat that, and they play with it every.single.day.  So I'd say it was a dollar well spent.

Porch decor ready for July 4th.

Also during the month of June Robert and I were able to take a little anniversary getaway trip.  We rented a cabin for the weekend and did lots of hiking and relaxing.  I'll have more about that in the next upcoming post.

Until then, I hope you're having a blessed day!
