Halie's 5th Birthday

This year for Halie's 5th birthday we didn't have a big party like we did last year.  We kept it simple with just family.

The only thing she asked for was a rainbow cake.  She helped me bake it the day before her birthday.

We used a boxed white mix and separated it out into different bowls and used food coloring to tint it.

Then we layered it in the pans and baked it.  After that, I did the rest after she went to bed.  She didn't know what I had planned for the top of it.  She thought only the inside was going to be rainbow.

Robert helped me set the table before we went to bed, and then I got up early Sunday morning and finished it up with balloons and such.

I found this cute little paper goods set at Save-A-Lot and thought it was just perfect for her.  She loved it!

She requested biscuits and gravy for breakfast, so that's what I made for everyone, and then she got to open one gift before church.

All dressed up and ready for church.

Our little birthday girl.

It was such gorgeous day that day, so we set up a table outside and ate Sunday dinner out there (Halie's favorite meal - Crusted Chicken Romano, Pasta, and Garlic Knots).

We were so happy that Robert's brother was able to come for the afternoon.  The kids just loved him.

The two little cheesers!  : )

After dinner, she opened her gifts.

A horse book and other fun things from Nana.

A set of horses and a stable from Uncle Robbie.

A Play-Doh Factory and even more horses from Mommy and Daddy!

Opening a package from Aunt Dee Dee, Uncle Martin, and Emma.

Baby clothes!  She loved them.

Meemaw and Papaw had taken her a day or two before to Toys R Us and let her pick out a birthday gift.  She chose this baby along with the clothes.

After presents it was time for cake.  I brought it out and showed her and she was SO surprised!

I had made a rainbow on top out of M&M's and marshmallows.

This cute little booger couldn't take his eyes off that cake and was dying for a taste of it!  : )

The inside of it turned out so cute!  It was so bright and colorful and a lot of fun to eat.

Can't believe my baby girl is growing up so fast!
